"Provenance" - Felix Unite's Orange River Base Camp
Is that thatched shack on the edge African/Tudor fusion or what? The camp is a very basic African style spread-out compound of miss-matched thatch "chalets" with a boma and a reed bar overlooking the river. There are big flat areas of green green grass and indigenous trees for campers. Ablutions are modern.
On arrival check in at the shop/office and pick a spot to spend the first night or find your chalet. Any spot will do for camping, there are no defined areas, go down near the river, 100m into the desert, on the very green kikuyu grass with a great view of the river and the stars or under the reed roof of the boma. Meet other intrepid canoeists, have a beer, relax.
